Howdy! Steve N8GFY here from Michigan Patriots Unified Radio Network. I'm the primary NCS for the echolink net. I've been enjoying the increased participation the last few weeks since we switched over to USA-GNG server. My node just couldn't handle the traffic. I started MPURN as a way to link communications between prepper groups in Michigan. I schedule meet and greets, antenna builds and field trainings. Many folks have become licensed due to the groups encouragement, purchased equipment and even keyed up the mic for the first time. MPURN has grown into a very active little group with members hosting WFD events, assisting at public service events, helping others setup stations and so much more. Echolink is only one net in a list of radio "drills" we conduct on Sunday night. 10 counties +/- have 2 meter simplex nets, HF voice followed by HF digital and wrap up with a Zello net to include everyone. We are looking at a way to add CB and GMRS to the list. We encourage everyone to participate anyway they can. Thanks again for allowing us to use the GNG.
